Friends,
We started early to the hospital this morning. The lab results were great! Check out the WBC and the Platelet numbers. The numbers were not good enough for me to avoid another dose of Vancomycin:-(((. It really knocks the stuffing out of me. I have been very tired all afternoon. Even so I was able to get in some work at the hospital and at home. My taste buds are not working very well either. I will be very happy to be off the antibiotics. They are interfering with my quality of life. They are much worse than chemotherapy.
On the medical front, the doctor said that the rate of my recovery looks much more typical than my recovery from induction chemo. After a month of looking in my mouth every other day, someone finally asked if I wanted something for the thrush infection on my tongue, that has been there the entire time. I even asked them about it once. The doctor prescribed Mycelex, 4x a day. I had that all thru induction chemo and was surprised I wasn't getting it up to now. I am still running low grade fevers in the evenings but they seem to go away by bedtime. The return of my immune system should help eliminate this and all the antibiotics. Maybe tomorrow!!!
