September 04, 2006 , Day 25
Friends,
I had a much better night last night, getting quite a bit of sleep. This morning was busy with the normal parade of doctors, and I threw in a walk for good measure. Got in 3 "H"s today. I am feeling a lot stronger. Then I got a transfusion of Red Blood Cells. That knocked me out for a while, but was still able to enjoy my lunch a little late. Fevers have not been an issue much so far today. We have entertained guests, which is fun. One of the things that helped with the sleeping was the "tent" we created by throwing a sheet over my trapeze bar. This blocked the forced air ventilation from continually being blown in my face, and made me much more comfortable. Having Menchie spend the night was wonderful too.
On the medical front- Now that my counts are starting up, the doctors are thinking about getting me out of here as soon as possible. The main impediment, other than the cell counts, is an antibiotic I will need to continue to take for 11 more days by IV. They are arranging home visitations so that can be made possible. There was mention of leaving in two or three days, which sounds a little aggressive to me, but the numbers will tell.
WBC went up again, strongly. Hopefully the other types will start to go up also.
