Friends,

Hello everyone! This has been a pretty strange week. Hard to remember everything. Wednesday we went to the hospital and left some candy at the BMT ward and went to a support group meeting and had a first birthday cake with the participants. We had fun celebrating my third first birthday. My second fourth birthday is coming up this week. On Saturday we went to a Home Decorating show at the Del Mar fairgrounds and I walked all through the show. It was fun looking at everything from the perspective of building a new house. The rest of the week was pretty uneventful until Sunday, when the fires started. Due to the fires, my office is closed, so I haven't been working much. My doctor appointment was canceled due to the fires, so I will try again next Tuesday.

The fires are still not threatening us. Some of our friends have been allowed to return to their houses. Well over a thousand homes have been destroyed. The aircraft flying today managed to turn the fires away from several communities, but others took a big hit. The winds are really shifty now, so the fire is still pretty dangerous. Today I tried to donate required stuff to one of the evacuation centers, but they weren't accepting donations. Apparently they have gotten so much stuff they don't need any more. At the stadium there were lines as long as 1 1/2 hours to get into the stadium because of everyone coming there trying to help. San Diego is really pulling together to get through this disaster.
