October 17, 2006 , Day 0
Friends,
Wow! We have finally arrived at day 0! It seems like it has been a real rocky road. Today we started with trying Cyclosporine again. They gave me a little bit real slow, and it went fine. This afternoon, about 1pm, I started getting my transplanted cells. I was pretty well dosed with benadryl and ativan, so I mostly dozed through the process. It is nice to get started. Now the hard part begins.
I am getting full strength, full speed Cyclosporine now, with no problems. They think that what I got yesterday was not properly mixed, and I was getting pure Cyclosporine, which would cause the kind of reaction I got yesterday.
On the medical front, in addition to the Cyclosporine I also started getting the antibiotic Levaquin, and the anti-fungal medicine Diflucan. I am also getting Nystatin to prevent fungal infections in the mouth. Tomorrow I start a whole bunch of new drugs. I am still getting the antacid Protonix.
Lab Results remain strange:
