November 8, 2003, DAY #11

Friends,

Good evening everyone. Yesterday afternoon my catheter site showed signs of being infected. The doctor removed a stitch that held the catheter to my skin as it was causing the irritation. Then they started me on Vancomycin with large doses of Benadryl to counteract "Redman Syndrome". Now the site is being cleaned twice a day with Peroxide. It is getting much better. The consequence of this however, is that I go to sleep at about 6pm from the Benadryl and at around 9am for an hour or so. It's all right, I can use the sleep. I had a Pear Kerns fruit nectar drink for breakfast and egg salad for lunch. I've ordered a Chicken Quesadilla for dinner. I have been walking up to an hour each day and I'm starting to feel better rather than worse.

On the medical front, I am now getting Pepsi and Voriconizol orally. I have not experienced any significant nausea today. I am not receiving any nausea medicine. Cretonne is holding at 1.3 and the lab numbers below are very positive.
