November 17, 2003, DAY #20

Friends,

A pretty significant day today! First, today I go over 25 years of service to my country in the Navy. It doesn't mean much to the Navy, but it is important to me. It is hard to believe that it has been a quarter of a century since I signed on the dotted line. What an adventure my life has been because of this decision. What an honor to serve this country for the last 25 years.

Here at the hospital, since I am taking Cyclosporine orally, I don't need to be on the IV. For now, I will be hooked up to hydration only at night. During the day, I am free! The doctor said I will probably be at the village by the end of the week. I also started doing physical therapy today. It was a few simple exercises and some time on the treadmill. It was a lot of fun. I have been tired ever since.

On the Medical Front, everything is going well. I will get my first oral Cyclosporine tonight. Then they will be watching my creatinine levels carefully as they adjust the dose. My blood work was normal today.
