May 15, 2007 , Day 210
Friends,
We have had another busy week. I rode today, Friday and Sunday. Wasn't feeling too well today, so I cut the ride short. To see details of my riding and some pictures, please visit my TNT page at http://www.active.com/donate/tntsdh/tntsdhTWilcox1.
I also did some volunteering at The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, as well as speaking at a few more info meetings. The Kickoff for the Honolulu Century training was last night. It was fun. Training starts Saturday with an "expo".
Monday I visited the doctor who drained the cyst on my shoulder, and it has pretty much healed. No big news there.
I have some thoughts about my fights with leukemia, that sort of relate back to thoughts I have relayed in a few past messages. Life itself is a battle. From birth on, we are constantly fighting invaders of our systems. Some of us require more assistance than others in our personal battles. I have needed a lot of assistance and hopefully, I will win this battle again. But I think the bigger issue for me is the war. Speaking specifically of leukemia, now, the war is against the disease. Victory is eliminating the disease so that people don't have to fight the battles that others and I have fought. So if I win or lose my batttle with leukemia, I hope that my efforts help win the war ultimately. I am trying to build a lasting legacy of freedom from blood cancers. I really appreciate all of you who have chosen to help.
My next doctor appointment is two weeks from today.
