All,
Good afternoon everybody! Today has been another sleepy day for me. I slept right up to breakfast time and felt pretty good for breakfast and a short meeting with the guys at work. Then they told me I need another RBC transfusion. I keep telling them to biggie size it, but they never do:-) Anyway, the Benadryl pretty well knocked me out for the rest of the day. I took a walk after lunch and browsed thru the gift shop for a change of pace. I feel feverish occassionaly now as the long term effects of chemo start kicking in. I was really surprised this morning at breakfast, to find a full pound of cottage cheeze on my tray. I'm sorry I just couldn't finish it! I shocked my nurse this morning. She said she was going to spike my Heparin and I asked her what with. She said that in all her years in nursing nobody had ever asked her that. I am getting quite a reputation with the nurses, but we're having fun.
On the medical front, very little has changed. The nurses and doctors keep telling me that I am doing extremely well and all the vaguely unpleasant symptoms I am experiencing are completely normal. I still have all my hair though. The Coumadin is starting to have some effect but it looks like it will still be a while before they can take me off the Heparin. The anti-nausea medicine, Ativan, is helping a lot in my GI tract, and it is also helping me sleep at night.
