All,

Good morning to all! (for a few more minutes anyway) I had a busy morning today. Spent lots of time with my brother Bob and his family. The clinical coordinator gave us a tour of the apheresis room and explained the process of bone marrow donations. It is very interesting for a techno geek like me:-) Bob identified the bird that's been hanging around my window as a Black Phoebe. He said they like to hang around golf courses.

Since tomorrow is a holiday, I am imagining all the staff being off, leaving the patients to their own devices. Food riots in the hospital! The nurse said I am not allowed to have fireworks in the hospital:-) Oh well....

On the medical front, things are still going extremely well and I'm still feeling really good. I am little tired today, because of a rough night, but that is ok, I'll get over it. Several people have asked about my arm. It feels fine, I just have to keep it elevated. They are going to insert another catheter today in my neck to replace the PICC line which they will remove tomorrow, after the chemotherapy is done. The blood clot will desipitate once the PICC line is removed. The heparin treatment has been effective and stopped the spread of the clot. My platelet count fell below 15 today, so I am currently getting a platelet transfusion. Everything else is preceeding normally.
