Friends,

In case you are wondering, I did not send out an update yesterday. I was extremely tired all day yesterday. I almost slept thru lunch. My parents flight was detoured to San Francisco, so they didn't get in until quite late. They arrived here in my room a little before 8pm. We visited for a while and then I went to sleep. Last night was a rough night. I woke up about 3am with chills and a fairly high fever. The nurse got a couple of warmed blankets to help make the chills go away. Then after drawing blood for a culture and normal blood test, she finally gave me some Tylenol. The fever broke about 5am. I had a dual transfusion today, both platelets and RBC. I had some very mild coughing also, so I got an x-ray today to be sure there was nothing wrong. I felt pretty good most of the day today in spite of having a fever again this afternoon. I spent most of the day with my parents, catching up on things. Right now this is getting really hard because of the Benadryl they gave me so I don't react to the Vancomycin, so if it sounds like I am talking thru a drug induced haze, that would be correct. Better living thru chemicals!

On the medical front, not much has changed. All my blood counts were down today. Having fevers back in my life is not necessarily a great thing. Most of the rashes are fading. The doctor has ordered Diflucan intravenously instead of by mouth. My INR was 1.3 today. Hopefully that will continue to go up in days to come.
