July 25, 2007 , Day 273

Friends,

I completely forgot about doing an update yesterday. My apologies. We have been having a relaxing week this week. We assembled and finished our lazy susan. It looks beautiful. We will take some pictures and post them somewhere. I will send out the information for that either next week or in an addendum to this email. I decided to see if I could make a dreamcatcher. I looked it up on the internet, then we got the stuff and I finished it all in one day. It looks great. I will take pictures of that too. Menchie and I have been setting ourselves up for Yahoo Messenger with a web cam so we can make free video phone calls anywhere in the world. We have talked a lot to her nephew in Dubai, UAE; and to her niece in the Philippines. All for free. It has been a lot of fun to get to know them better. If you are on Yahoo Messenger, feel free to drop us an invitation if you wish. Last Thursday, we skipped spin class and went to a fund raising poker tournament. I ended up 4th of about 35 participants, and won a free dinner and a pair of athletic shoes. All proceeds went toward the fund raising efforts of a teammate of mine on the Honolulu team. He made almost $2000.00. It was great fun. Our Saturday ride was pretty memorable. I rode 52 miles, including "the stud loop" and Torrey. Over 2500 feet of elevation gain. I was tired but still functional at the end of the ride. We did a short ride of 11 easy miles on Sunday, and we rode 22 miles yesterday. Menchie hooked up with a large group for a minute or so, and hit 26 mph. Very impressive! I tried to latch onto the group too, by accelerating before they got to me, but the group was so large that I was exhausted by the time the group got past me. Otherwise, Menchie and I raced a couple times and we did some intervals. We rode with several friends who happened by, and it was all great fun. It is pretty amazing, but I think I will go two weeks without a doctor visit of any kind. This is the first time in almost a year I have been that long without seeing a doctor for something. My next appointment is next Tuesday for Pentamadine.

Take care, everyone!
