December 31, 2003, DAY #64

Good evening! My brother and his family left this morning for home, so it is now just Menchie and I here for the first time in over a month. We are trying to take it a little easy, and wind down a little bit. The going has been a bit rough the last few weeks. My brother did give us a breadmaker for our wedding, so we had to go out and get bread fixins for dinner tonight. What a kick making the bread was. It turned out great! We have another loaf in the cooker for breakfast tomorrow on the timer. Too bad we don't have a bread knife! In the meantime, I have been able to get some work in, as well as take care of lots of other administrative things that need to be done now that we are married. One HUGE development today is that my long term disability was approved today!!!!! Life will go on! We are organizing and packing for our visit home tomorrow. We will be doing lots of business tomorrow and the next day while in San Diego, and will be back here Friday night, ready to take on the rest of the week! I am just starting to get wedding pictures. I will post them on my web site as soon as I can.

On the medical front, some interesting stuff. Blood counts are holding up as the numbers show below. My Potassium levels dropped below normal, causing fatigue and other muscle problems that I was experiencing the last few days. In addition, my Cyclosporine levels crept up a little high, causing some excessive tremors. It made me feel like an old man. The doctor started on Potassium pills, and reduced my Cyclosporine a little. Hopefully that will take care of things and make me feel a little better. The rash is fading reluctantly, but the drugs seem to be winning the battle. My next regular appointment is on Monday. I'll send another update then!
