December 13, 2006 , Day 57
Friends,
The hospital visit today was routine. The doctor was happy with my progress. I got an infusion of Magnesium. They did ask me to talk to another transplant patient who was on day 1 and was pretty depressed. I hope I helped him a little. The last two days have been busy. My PT guy had me walking all over the house. I even went part way down the driveway. I had to sit down on the way back up and a couple times after that on the way back to my bed. Hard work. He also assigned me to walk up and down 5 steps, which I completed today. Yesterday I rode my bike for 10 minutes with two 30 second periods at 80rpm. My main problem there was my neck and shoulders. Menchie and I have been doing some Christmas shopping, which is a lot of work for Menchie, since she always ends up pushing me around in a wheel chair. Today we had my brother and his wife for a beautiful dinner, which I was mostly unable to eat. Bummer.
On the medical front, now that my intestines are starting to improve, my creatinine is coming down. Nothing else significant. I did get the results of the biopsy and chimerism tests. The biopsy shows no sign of leukemia and no abnormal blasts. The chimerism test shows none of my cells, just my brother's.
