It looks like I am not doing a very good job of sending out updates. I will try to do better. I am on the last day of Induction Chemo now. I am very tired. I have lots of sores in my mouth, but they are not bothering me too much.
Menchie and I have slipped rather easily into the patient/caregiver roles
we thought we had given up for good. This time, Induction Chemo has been
rather boring for me. As I recall from the first time, it was not very
much fun. We were struggling to figure out how to do it. Now we
already know, so we are just sort of slipping through it. Now that my
Induction Chemo is done, we just have to wait until my blood counts recover, and
see if I have gotten into remission. I suspect this will take at
least two weeks. We are still waiting for the cytogenetics from my bone
marrow biopsy. This will be an important part of figuring out the next
steps.
I got a platelet transfusion yesterday, nothing today. Because of the
transfusion yesterday, I spent most of the morning in a benadryl induced
haze. A good way to spend the time.
On the medical front - Still nothing remarkable. I get an
antibiotic, an anti-nausea medicine, an antacid and a couple
of antifungal meds in addition to the chemo.
